Tempest Boats are Canadian made right here in Ontario, Canada.
Tempest has been around for over 40 years, founded in 1976 by Ray Stoss. Ray began building boats after selling marine accessories. Ray's boss at the time had bought a boat company and Ray wanted to become a partner. Eventually Ray set up his own brand, Tempest Boats.
In the 60's, everyone had a little aluminum fishing boat as the standard, but, boating was evolving. Boats were becoming much more sophisticated which also meant they were becoming more expensive. People had been waterskiing since the 1920's but by the mid 80's, tubes and wakeboarding were introduced as new accessory sports.
When Ray set out to establish Tempest Boats Limited, he had an idea in mind...that he would make it possible for boat buyers to own the boat of their dreams at a price that could make those dreams a reality.
Ray knew that there was no reason that a boat buyer had to be rich to enjoy the best, just smart. Smart enough to recognize real quality to see it. To know the top features, the leading designs and most up to date styling. That's what it takes.
Because Ray understands your needs, interests and dreams, determining the designs and features was the easiest part for Ray and his team. These features were carefully balanced with cost because the most important feature of a Tempest Boat is that it is within reach.
Today, Tempest builds three bowrider models. The 165 and 175 are almost the same except the 175 is 1 foot longer. The 192 is a completely different model.
Tempest is one of only a few Canadian boat manufacturers. Tempest Boats are proudly manufactured in Caledon Ontario, employing Canadian craftsmen.
Tempest offers simplicity and affordability. There is such a demand for Tempest Boats that some dealers find they cannot keep stock and boats are pre-ordered before they are even built.
Production cannot keep up with the demand.
Speak to your local authorized dealer about availability of your preferred model but be prepared, they're hard to keep in stock, you might need to pre-order.
